I always dreamed of working at some kind of department store as a buyer or something like that, even if I'm just working there it will be good. Now, I'm just working at some stupid fast food restaurant in order to help my husband pay bills. I tried putting in for the department store jobs but they always say I don't have enough experience. Does anyone know any retail jobs that will take a chance on a young high school graduate?

walmart, sears, k-mart, target, penneys, sears....start working for them for the holidays...and then stay on in another capacity. That will help you get your feet wet in retail. Then you can get your degree as a buyer (I hear walmart helps students). Remember that the competition will be keen so you'd need to not only get all A's but you'll need to do networking with the higher ups of departments and those who would be in a position to hire you. Think about it, there are many sales positions in a company, but there is only one buyer position per company. Learn the trade, open your own business and you can be both owner and buyer.

Keep applying for the jobs that you want, try the shops that sell clothes that are for girls your age, or the Hallmark Stores etc.... to get some more experience in retail.....look into a class in this sort of field......It isn't' going to all come together for you just like that you will have to show some incentive.

Best Buy. Now is the time fill out their job application on their in-store kiosk. They are hiring temp help for the Christmas season but if they like you, they'll offer you a permenent position in January.

not many people love what they do, make the best of it for the $$ and the experience. The more "duties" you have in your current job-the better off it looks on paper, ie. taking orders= customer service, running the cash register=improves your math skills, cleaning the bathroom= maintenance/custodial, etc...-welcome to the "real" world!!

Try small shops first, if you have a walmart, its retail, technically. Just to get your feet wet. Keep going, if you want it badly enough, you will work your way into you dream job. :)

go on line, there are agencies out there that will hire you to be a secret shopper. Is that what you are referring to? My sister in law does it, but she doesn't really make that much money.
