Some of the benefits of circumcision are stretched or eventually proved false. For example, here in America circumcision was started to stop masturbation, prevent wet dreams, bed wetting, penile cancer and other nonsense, which as has been seen, doesn't affect it.

Here's some more information on it, some of which people may find surprising. Circumcision is a traditionally Jewish and Muslim surgery, although it was introduced and encouraged to the Western, developed world (North America and Europe, but especially the USA) as a way to stop masturbation, especially with the help of Dr. Kellogg. (see link 1) However, although scientific studies have discovered that circumcision harms masturbation by up to over 60% (2), needless to say, it doesn’t completely stop masturbation. Many circumcised guys just find it more convenient to use a lube like KY or lotion as a result (3) since the typically moist foreskin (like the eyelids) is not there to rub the head of the penis with (4).

Most developed nations quickly rejected circumcision after noticing its ineffectiveness against masturbation (they were quite religious back then!), and as a result the United States remains the last developed nation doing it to a significant percentage of newborns. (5) This was done as a result of the for-profit American health care system promoting myths about benefits of circumcision (6), such as preventing penile cancer (6a, 6b), preventing HIV (6c, 6d) despite the USA being the developed nation with the highest HIV rates and circumcision rates (6e, 5), and preventing STDs (6d, 6f). As a result, circumcision now brings in hundreds of millions of dollars to doctors and the American health system. (7)

However, circumcision has been becoming less popular as years have passed by. In the 1960s over 90% of guys were circumcised in the USA, now circumcision rates are as low as 14% in some states. (8) More and more parents are discovering that circumcision carries more risks than benefits, and realize that by leaving their sons uncircumcised, their sons have the choice of choosing what they’d like, since the surgery is irreversible (you can't go back if you don't like it or if it goes wrong).

Circumcision risks include the loss of sexual pleasure according to multiple studies (2, 9, 10, 11). Those studies take into effect many sensation points, including the foreskin, and they involve many participants. There have been other studies that claim no difference, but they don’t even take into effect the nerve endings on the foreskin, which as seen in one study, are some of the most sensitive points on the penis (10). One study even found an increase in erectile dysfunction rates after circumcision (10a). In another study, it was found that females ended up reaching orgasm with and preferring uncircumcised males in 9 out of 10 cases (10b). In addition, circumcision is extremely painful on newborns (12, 13, 14), and you risk many bad conditions, such as a buried penis when too much foreskin is removed and limits the size of the penis (15), or adhesions or skin bridges that develop from the head to the shaft when the skin heals after the surgery (16), meatal stenosis [occurs in up to 10% of circumcised males!] when the opening of the penis becomes irritated from too much exposure and rubbing and begins to close up (17), and meatal ulcers (18). All those risks are, of course, not including the possibility of having too much skin removed, which can cause discomfort during erections due to lack of skin to allow the penis to expand, and could consequently cause a hairy penis by pulling pubic hair and skin to the shaft. Often a circumcision scar develops around the penis after circumcision. In addition, circumcision has negative effects on breastfeeding. (18)

To conclude, here is a link that describes the anatomy of the foreskin (19) and the development of the foreskin with infants, a link especially helpful for parents (19a). Ultimately, one survey found that although uncircumcised guys are a bit more satisfied percentage-wise, it’s within the margin of error. (20) The only difference is that those unsatisfied uncircumcised guys can simply get circumcised and end up satisfied either way. If you're cut or uncut and happy, you'll say that side is better. If you got cut later in life, you'll say cut because you had problems with your foreskin before. If you're cut and had something go wrong or wish to have had a choice, then you'll say uncut. One survey found that up to half of circumcised guys wished to have had the choice themselves (as in, been left uncircumcised and they could have chosen to get circumcised if they wished later on in life). That's a huge number. (21) That, along with the risks and negative effects that are being seen more with the help of the Internet, may be what is bringing down circumcision rates.

I'm uncircumcised, but really, back then there was a huge craze over health. Most of it turned out to be false. Yes there is a better chance of getting infected if your uncircumcised, but if you clean it regularly in the shower then the chances are just about the same as a circumcised. Most men say it is more comfortable with an uncircumcised, but I don't know since I have never had a circumcised. It is also becoming more popular now-a-days to be uncircumcised. Now some women may think that uncircumcised penises look funny or weird. If they think that, then dump then. Women shouldn't care if ur cut or uncut. And also may I point out the women are starting to get circumcised on some part of the body somewhere. I heard it, don't believe it, but I heard it. But really it's your choice. And also, depending on your religion. So if you want to, then do it. If you don't, then don't.

All the pros are lies, spread by the pro-mutilation lobby. Yes, there are people in this world who work to ensure that children get mutilated. How sick is that? The cons are too numerous to properly list, but here's a start: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Neonatal circumcision is often done with inadequate pain relief. The child is subjected to intense pain for up to 15 minutes. This pain may leave a child with post-traumatic stress disorder, which is debilitating even for adults who can receive therapy for it. For a baby, it could lead to all sorts of hidden but significant psychological problems in later life. Life Threatening About 500 babies per year die from complications of circumcision - usually from blood loss, infection or anaesthetic problems. Sensitivity Loss When the foreskin is removed half the penile sensitivity is instantly lost, BUT at the same time the glans is exposed, making it SEEM more sensitive. After that, the glans keratinizes, making it very slowly get less sensitive - so slowly that it's hard to notice a difference. This is not 'healing' - it will feel better, but only because it's being so badly damaged that the nerves are being deadened. In the end, there's a big difference (up to 75% sensitivity loss). Nerve endings don't grow back, and a penis that has lost so many cannot possibly feel as sensitive as it did before. But like the proverbial frog cooking slowly on a hotplate and not noticing the difference in heat, a man who gets a circumcision might think that his penis feels the same, but he just doesn't notice the difference because the process takes so long. Failure to Heal A circumcised penis can never 'heal completely'. The penis has been permanently damaged. Size After neonatal or childhood circumcision, it's believed that the growth of the penis is retarded, causing the adult penis to be smaller than it would have been if the foreskin had been left intact. Further Damage After the glans is exposed, the 'pearly penile papules' around the corona (rim of the glans) tend to disappear. These structures are poorly understood, but may increase sexual pleasure for either the male or the female. Loss of Function The foreskin is an entire mechanism, including skin, muscle, mucous membrane and supporting structures. Cutting it off is not only excruciatingly painful, but it cripples the penis, destroying a large part of it, including the penis's only moving part, making the whole organ incapable of ever functioning the way nature intended and making sexual intercourse that much more difficult. Difficulty Entering the Vagina A circumcised penis has no foreskin to help the man enter a woman's vagina. When used correctly, the foreskin is pushed forward to facilitate comfortable entry - it unfolds as the penis pushes into the vagina. A man who has no foreskin cannot do this, so he must use lubricant. Need For More Lubrication With the foreskin gone, a couple needs to use lubrication during sex to keep the vagina moist. An uncircumcised man needs none - his foreskin forms a seal with the vaginal wall, reducing the need for lubrication and keeping the vaginal fluids where they belong. Increased Risk of Infection A circumcised penis is more likely to get infected than an intact penis. Erectile Dysfunction Those who have been circumcised suffer from sexual problems throughout the rest of their lives: they more easily develop erectile dysfunction as they get older. Some unfortunate victims find the loss of sensitivity so severe that they cannot orgasm even at a young age. No Advantage in Terms of Cleanliness Many people have been led to believe that circumcision is cleaner. But a circumcised penis is no cleaner than an intact penis. Both need to be gently rinsed clean while showering. Circumcision is a Woman's Problem Too The circumcised penis usually gives less pleasure to the woman because the foreskin that gives the uncircumcised penis its gliding motion is no longer there. As a result of this, and as a result of the loss of sensitivity involved in a circumcised penis, the man has to push harder and more roughly to get the same feeling that an uncircumcised penis would give. All this, combined with the roughness and dryness of the keratinized glans, results in a less comfortable and less pleasurable experience for the woman. The circumcised penis can cause chafing and discomfort that may lead to vaginal infection. The foreskin is designed to prevent these problems. Many female partners of circumcised males have been led to assume that feminine dryness is a common female ailment when in fact it's a male problem caused by the loss of the foreskin. The Mutilation of the Father Revisited On the Son The thought of permanent loss of sensory function is so painful that men who have been circumcised often deny their loss in order to avoid facing the painful feelings. Circumcised males may experience a wide range of emotional dysfunction resulting from loss. This frequently results in circumcised fathers adamantly insisting that a son be circumcised and circumcised doctors recommending that their male patients be circumcised.

Is Being Circumcised Better

2016-10-17 01:48:54 · answer #4 · answered by keels 4 · 0 0

It's better to be uncircumcised because it's more sensitive (because the head is usually covered up and the nerve endings of the inner foreskin are still intact), easier to manipulate during masturbation (because of the gliding motion of the foreskin and lack of necessity for lube) and more comfortable during intercourse for the male and female (again because of the gliding motion of the foreskin).

Circumcision does have some benifits to it (easier to keep clean and less chance of contracting an STD through unprotected sex), but in my opinion the pros don't outweight the cons of decreased sensitivity and motion.

As far as looks go, it really depends on where you grew up and what you are used to seeing. Many American's who are used to seeing circumcised penises think that the foreskin is ugly whereas in Europe people are more likely to think that a circumcised penis looks mutilated. Asthetically, it all comes down to personal preference.

Circumcision is most popular in the United States where 65% of boys are circumcised as soon as they are born. This became popular in the early 1900's when it was thought that circumcision prevented masturbation. Since then it is more of a cultural tradition and has been justified by surgeons who feel that ultimately it's more hygenic. However, pediatricians feel that it's unnecessary and the procedure doesn't have a wide following in other parts of the world except as a religious practice.

In a nutshell that is the reason why 80% of the world's male population remains uncircumcised while the majority of Americans are. An uncircumcised penis is as nature intended it to be. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I would say probably uncircumcised - it is natural and normal - but some people seem to prefer circumcised.

Most men in the world are uncircumcised.

There are a lot of web sites that list pros and cons, some more truthful of others, and I'm sure they will be posted here.

Being circumcised is said to reduce your risk slightly for some rare conditions like penile cancer - not very useful though because having a complication from the circumcision is more likely than getting penile cancer.

Uncircumcised is not dirty or ugly. Most reputable studies show that uncircumcised has better pleasure for both the men and women, although of course some individuals have different experiences.

BTW, since the 1800s doctors have been trying to think of all sorts of things that circumcision "cures" (even they said epilepsy at one stage!) yet they haven't seemed to be able to prove any of these successfully.

Also, some of the pros of circumcision are not practical. Even if there is, as they claim, a lower chance of becoming infected with HIV, it still means you have to be having unsafe sex with an infected person, and infection is still a possibility and quite likely after more than one instance of intercourse - is it worth it? Same with the urinary tract infections - seeing as females are more likely to have them anyway than males, and there is no surgery available for females, they can be treated in other ways.

There are many natural ways to cure premature ejaculation. A proven natural method can be found on this site http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=565

Recent polls have shown that the average length of intercourse is usually anywhere between 2 to 12 minutes. Most often those diagnosed with premature ejaculation climax in less than a minute or two, and there are even those who ejaculate before there is any sort of penetration. In all actuality, “too short” is really just a matter of opinion. The most important factor is if a man feels that he is unable to control his ejaculation and is frequently climaxing before he would like. Any man who feels that this is a problem for him may be suffering from some form of premature ejaculation.
Have a nice day

ADVANTAGES OF BEING INTACT:
--Circumcision cuts WAY down on sexual enjoyment for the man due to loss of nerve-rich foreskin. A recent study proves conclusively, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that circumcision decreases sensitivity for the man. http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2006.06685.x
--Getting cut causes the glans (head) to develop a keratinized layer to protect from rubbing on clothing, further cutting sensation. Many cut men are unable to ejaculate during intercourse and have to finish by hand. Intact men can go all the way.
--nine out of ten women who have had both prefer intact penises: http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/60750.html That's really pretty definitive.
--foreskin makes masturbation more fun - and better for your partner to play with.
--Circumcision hurts when it's done, even if you were too young to remember it
--a cut penis looks kind of sad with that scar where the foreskin belongs. Uncut is much hotter looking.
--Circumcision has a slight chance of complications. Each year a few baby boys have to have their entire penises amputated and undergo surgery to make them into fake girls. And a few die.

ADVANTAGES OF BEING CUT: Circumcision has no advantages that are not fictional or only relevant in a few areas
--You can be just as clean if you are uncircumcised. Wash. It's THAT simple. Even if you're cut, you still need to wash.
-- If you're sleeping around, you need to use condoms regardless or you will get diseases.
--Some studies have shown a lower rate of cancer of the penis in cut guys, but this cancer is so rare that it's hard to get a good statistical sample. More boys/men die each year from botched circumcisions than from cancer of the penis.
--Recent reports from Africa say that circumcision reduces the risk of AIDS from unprotected hetrosexual activity. This has little relevance to areas of the world where condoms are cheap, readily available, and culturally acceptable. The US has the highest circumcision rate in the developed world and also the highest AIDS rate in that group. http://www.circinfo.org/hiv.html

When I was born there was a huge circumcision craze in America. It was all about cleanliness and health. Boys who are circumcised are easier keep clean and they have fewer infections. At least that is the theory... Turns out that was more myth than not.

Both men and women seem to agree that uncircumcised is much more pleasurable (although i think weirder looking). But it could explain the number of viagra adds if guys just aren't enjoying it as much as they could.

If your religion says do it than do it... otherwise I'd not bother. it adds to embarrassment but good to be unique.

It is better to have a complete penis, not mangled and mutilated one.

A complete penis will be capable of feeling pleasure with your mate for as long as you are able to make love, many "circumcised" men have so little feeling left in their penises by the time they are in their 50's, they give up on sex.

Did you know that the one of the religions that "circumcise" all baby boys, has an other law that requires a man to give his wife sex, if a man can not do this he is a failure, only a bunch of "circumcised" men would need such a law.

beacher: You child, I am "circumcised" and have been for 51 of my 57 years. The fetish here is your mutilation fetish. What is your ulterior motive, are you part of the billion dollar "circumcison" industry? Or do you just like to cut genitals?

Do you want to see where the fetishes are? Just google - (tight circumcision) you will be directed to the world of mostly gay mutilationists, some very disturbing mindsets out there, some claim to have been "circumcised" several times.

The desire to retain natural form and function is not a "fetish".

Premature ejaculation is caused by specific things that you do before and during sex. Most of the time without even realizing it. Read here https://tr.im/89XUA

Premature ejaculation is not some gene you're born with, the result of your penis size or a part of your personality that you can never change.
