There is a maximum limit of water vapour that air(given quantity) can hold at a particular temperature. When this limit is reached, the air is said to be saturated. When air is saturated, the relative humidity will be 100 percent.
When the air does not contain the maximum amount of water vapour it is said to be unsaturated for that temperature.
A saturated air will become an unsaturated air if you raise the temperature alone.Similarly,if you decrease the temperature alone of an unsaturated air, it will become saturated.
The saturated condition can be expressed in terms of the pressure exerted by the water vapour.Water vapour, being a gas exerts its own pressure and thereby contributes to the total pressure of air.
In saturated condition, the saturation vapour pressure is identical with the actual pressure of the vapour in the air for a particular temperature.

Saturated Air

Air has reached saturation when the humidity is at 100% and the air can hold no more water. A cooling of that air will cause it to contract releasing the water to come out as fog, rain, snow, sleet or hail.
Heating of the saturated air will cause it to expand and be less saturated so it can absorb more moisture. Let's say a warm mass of air passed over a body of water for several days and became nearly saturated. Then as it rose higher over land it would cool, becoming over-saturated. The excess moisture would be forced to precipitate out as rain. This happens nearly every day in some parts of the tropics.

Define Saturated

Moist air in a state of equilibrium with a plane surface of pure water or ice at the same temperature and pressure; that is, air whose vapor pressure is the saturation vapor pressure and whose relative humidity is 100.

unsaturated air is one whose relative humidity is less than 100%. it means the air has the capacity to hold more water.

Saturated and Unsaturated Vapour: When a space actually contains the maximum possible amount of vapour, the vapour is called saturated. If the amount is less than the maximum possible, the vapour is called unsaturated.

saturated air is the maximum capacity of the air to hold water vapor with out precipitation or condensation

unsaturated air in the holding of air not in its maximum capacity.
we can say that the air is just humid

saturated air has 100 % humidity. it means that it contains maximum water vapor without precipitation.

unsaturated air has lower humidity . it means it can still absorb water vapor without precipitation.

because humid air has more moisture. And more moisture means more water. Water takes moreof energy to heat or cool than air does. So if you mix air with water, it will take longer to cool
