I assume you're looking at Ebay, check POSTAGE costs ofr the 1p option, or is that starting price of an auction ?

Also item No 1, does NOT state what the Cat rating of cable is, you want cat5e or cat6 now, if it's plain cat5 it's not as good cable.

Other than that the difference is 5m in length

Router means that it's a network hub, so it doesn't matter that what the cable is for, it will confuse yourself, a normal LAN cable will work with your PC and Router, buoth of the above cables wil work, but it depends on you that how much you can afford on the product quality....

I'll go for a better quality, but will not give any single buck if the product company is just fooling me.

#1 is a cross over cable

#2 sounds like your standard either net cable.

The cable do not really have an effect you will notice on your speed connection. Only if you have a long wire. You are being fooled if you really think one will make it faster. I have a ton of ethernet cables here they all work the same. Unless you have a xover cable that you need for things like xbox.

They both should work. The first one sounds like it is a better quality cable but for home use both are perfectly fine to use.

The options you show do virtually the same thing. All you need to decide is how much to spend. Either of these will do the job

I'd go for the first one to be honest. I like the heavy duty bit.
