Indian Pin Code numbers (Postal Index Number Code) consists of 6 digits.

There are 8 PIN regions in India. Understanding how PIN Code works is simple if you understand the following:

The first two digits of the PIN Code together indicates the sub region or one of the postal circles.

The first three digits of the PIN Code together indicates a sorting / revenue district.

The last three digits of the PIN Code refer to the delivery Post Office.
