Yes if the person in question is in constant pain and is suffering so much that he/she will be better off dead.

We do a lot more for our pets in the area than we do for our fellow humans. Most people, when their pets are suffering terribly and are terminally ill, will take them to the vet to be euthanized.
I think the Oregon law is the way to go. Doctors are allowed to prescribe euthanizing drugs to terminally ill patients who request them. The doctors never administers the drugs, but leaves the timing and choice to the patient.

There are many many things available for paliative care (symptom management). I would never advocate mercy killing. If someone is in pain - their physician/nurse are not doing the best for them.

In some cases I would be. That would be if they were terminal and in great pain. If they were brain dead or nearly so or they couldn't live off by themselves, it would be better than starving them. I would hate to force a doctor to kill though.
