I am wanting to create a simple 1 minute or so movie showcasing an item (e.g like a commercial). I want to have a 360 degree view of the item (showing off all it's angles and features etc) but not have anything in the background. I just want the product showing and a black or white background. I have iMovie and iPhoto etc, but I also have access to a PC but I'd prefer to work on a mac.

I'd like something like this: http://www.chrisabraham.com/ipod-shuffle.jpg

To have that type of picture (just plain white background) rotating. How would I go about filming the item I want in everyday terms to achieving a commercial like presentation?

Thanks

This will require much more than iphoto and imovie, first you must render an object into a 3d map. to do this, it must be photographed from every angle and then applied over a wireframe model of the exact dimensions, this can be done in a wide variety or #D modeling software, the easiest route (or should i say cheapest) is through Blender

This will be a "fun" project, however, it has gotten easier over the years, using Blender will be adequate.

For advanced functions, you might look at an even better program, such as Motion, that comes inside of Final Cut Studio..... Expensive.....
