Surely in light of these new developments "The Fund" should be frozen / seized? If they are convicted of being involved in Maddy's disapperarence / death, will they also be charged with fraud?

FAITH - Read the AIMS of the fund - It will only be 'donated to other charities' after a string of 'this has to happen first'. The given uses of the fund were also so wide that they could use it FOR ANYTHING THEY WANT and it still fall under their given terms.
The PLC set up was also formed TO FIRST AND FOREMOST FIND MADDY NOT HELP OTHER KIDS.
Not only that it seems that the people who were involved in Maddy's disapperance / possible death SET UP THE FUND TO FIND HER AND WERE OPENLY TRYING TO GET PEOPLE TO DONATE. This is morally wrong and is must surely be an issue of FRAUD

If they did have anything to do with the disappearance or death of Madeleine... they're both screwed up the behind sideways.
I know it's incredibly sad, but most cases like these which I've read about (though certainly not to this scale) end with the parents being convicted of accidental homicide and attempt to cover it up.
I think that might just be what happened.
If such is the case, the McCanns are going to be charged with a lot more, considering the amount of manpower that has been put into this search, and the donations and contributions of all kinds of organizations and independent sources.
I don't think it's too late to hope that Maddy is found alive and that her parents aren't the perpetrators of any kind of crime, but honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if this whole thing ends in the worst way.
I suggest that we all hope and pray for Maddy and other missing children, and give thanks to the people dedicating their lives to the investigation and rescue of all of them.

I didn't contribute to this fund as I would rather my money helped the many, not the few.
However, if I *had* have sent money to the McCanns, I would be incredibly angry if a single penny of it went into paying any legal fees to represent these neglectful parents.
It's always struck me as a little odd that the fund was referred to as a 'fighting fund' rather than a resource to enable the McCann's to do everything possible to look for their daughter and employ investigators on their behalf. It has, therefore, worried me that people have contributed in good faith in order to keep the McCann's in Portugal so that they can go for a morning run before the heat sets in, 'pop' into church to pray for Madeleine, and splash around in a pool with the twins. . . . .
I would be very interested to hear what those who have sent money in to this fund think about it all now . . . .

it only requires one person who has contributed to the fund and can prove he/she as done to go to the police and make a complaint that the money they donated, may have been obtained by deception in light of the recent developments and the police will be obliged to investigate the complaint and this may or should result in the fund being frozen while the complaint is investigated. the complaint to the police will result with the person who makes the complaint being hounded by the media so anybody who takes the advice be aware it may cause you trouble or it may make you a saint who knows

I seem to remember the McCanns were trying to see if the fund would pay for their legal expenses - it is one of the articles of the company - to assist the family financially, so theoretically they could use the money for that reason...
...I'm wondering if they've been declared arguidos in order to stop them leaving Portugal, rather than because they're about to be charged.

Of course it should, and just being arguido's alone should be enough of a reason.
Why no-one in a high up position has brought this up with over a million pounds at stake is staggering.

The McCann will be donated to Charities as stated repeated by the McCanns.
Its not being used. Why would you want to freeze it & deprive needy children of this fund?
