So, liberals, I'm confused. How much oil are we taking out of Iraq? As a person who works in the oil industry, I can tell you that the vast majority of American oil comes from from Canada, Northern Alaska, Venuzuala, The Gulf Coast, Mexico, and right here in the San Joaquin Valley (SJV Crude). So, you can check this out for yourself, and after you check out the facts, you can get back to me.

If you ever are successful at the impossible, which is convincing these modern liberals, who are members of a sub-species I have just identified and call liberalus totalus, that the war is not about oil, then they're going to start in on you about how the oil is causing global warming anyway and we all need to quit using it before the glaciers and the polar ice caps melt and submerge us all.
You cannot reason with liberalus totalus; they will always win because eventually, the logical one will get tired of repeating logical statements and simply walk away.

The operative word is "comes". As in present tense. The majority of our oil "Comes" from these sources. However, this will not last forever. Many of our domestic oil fields have already passed peak production.
Iraq represents the largest known undeveloped oilfield in the world, and of the oil fields, it is in such a situation that the oil is relatively easy to extract. While the motivation for our actions in Iraq may or may not be oil, it is still a hugely important source of fuel and profits for the petrochemical industry.

If you work for the oil industry, then you would know about the "Divvy up the oil"law that Bush has been pressuring the new Iraq government on much more than he has been pressuring them to stand up and fight for their own freedom right?
<>
now all of you questions and answers make much more sense, but doesn't explain your lack of knowledge of how our oil is actually obtained.

There was virtually no oil being exported for the last 12 years Saddam was in power. Therefore, the reality of the PNAC being behind this and forcing up the oil price is simply a figment of a liberal's imagination.

So common sense, you don't understand the price of oil is effected by the global market?
Good thing my sibling is an exec in BP and explained that to me. Guess you are one of the blue collar oil workers. It is not about making oil more available, it is about making more money in the Oil industry. For someone named Common Sense, you ain't got it, or are very dishonest.

You need to educate yourself.
PNAC stole Iraq's oil for themselves, not for America.
Hint: Take a look at the oil company's profits and the price of oil since they seized control of Iraq's reserves. They effectively reduced the supply and prices skyrocketted. Just as they planned.

I don't know why you asked this question of "liberals." Why not just ask it of people who have common sense? (Oh. Yeah. Come to think of it, they comprise the SAME group of people, so I guess that explains it.)
Q. -- "War for oil?"
A. -- Iraq has oil. Rwanda doesn't. So it was tough luck for Rwanda. The USA cavalierly threw them under the bus, and 2 million people got slaughtered while we looked the other way and whistled a tune.
Back to Iraq. Thanks to our Warmonger-in-Thief (worst mass-murderer the world has seen since Pol Pot, and who deserves a Nuremburg Trial-convening), over 100,000 innocent Iraqis have been massacred.
But, oh, we're doing them such a FAVOR!!
Okay, then -- if we ARE doing them a favor, then we should be getting, FREE of charge, **every single drop** of oil that can be extracted from their land -- to REPAY us for the hundreds of billions of dollars we have WASTED on this mindless and illegal "war."
WHY aren't we **at least** doing THAT???
-- "Roadrat" -- Sensible social liberal.
