Can this "trigger" an eating disorder, like anorexia?

In my opinion it could.If the parents are so over bearing that they control almost every aspect of their child's life then the child may turn to anorexia and or bulimia as a way to take back what control they can.

Not unless you make it happen.

Parents usually don't have anything to do with your anorexia.

It's your choice whether you become anorexic or not.

Parents being over protective is not an excuse.
Nothing is.

probably not. anorexia is a psycological disorder, cause could be anything.

maybe not so much being over protective as micro-managing what your kids eat and calling them fat if they eat certain things.

they may have a bad experience themselves before that is why they are over protective. good communication is very important so that they know they can trust you and you know exactly what is in their mind :)
