And I have a feeling that once Monday arrives, it will be proven to be more the case, when you suddenly find that O'Brien and Tanner are in the Algarve. And they arent there to top up their tans!

Here's what I said last month about what could have happened that night.

JT - I will have to have a think about the whole car and moving the body around after 25 days. Im not really sure about that given there was a lot of media spotlight on them. Having said that, the media werent around them 24/7 like some claim. In fact I seem to remember specifically reading blogs from Gerry saying that at some points the media interest had all but died down and they had gone away. I wonder if they moved the body because at some points weeks into the investigation, the police had been searching an area near the body and it was too close for comfort for them.

My theory is that the child died accidentally. Maybe she took some kind of drug that her parents had foolishly left laying about or the child had an accident while trying to help herself to get something or do something.
The problem was the parents were not there at the time when this happened and when they returned they panicked and decided that as she was already dead, the best thing to do was to get rid of the body.
Their logical thoughts may have been 'She is dead, nothing can bring her back and we will be in big trouble for leaving them alone' plus our careers would go down the pan and our other children might be taken away from us.
Because the parents are doctors, It would be easy for them to make the body smaller for disposal. Hence the blood which was not cleared up properly. God knows where they buried her. But I foresee the mother breaking down soon and the whole story will spill out.
Those two have never convinced me that they didn't know where their daughter was.

As much as I hate to say it, I've thought all along that something wasn't right about this whole affair but couldn't put my finger on it.

They didn't seem sincere enough for a start. Running around the world leaving their twins with someone else all the time (would you really leave your other children behind if one had just been abducted, you'd keep them with you 24/7!!)

Not until I read your article there have the other misgivings I've had been put into text. It pains me to say it because all along I've been hoping and praying that Maddie is found alive and returned to her parents (and that the fools are presecuted for leaving her alone in the first place) but the more and more we hear the more and more unlikely this is and the more it looks like something else went on that night.

If what you say is true then I hope they all rot in hell. If its not (which I still, today, hope it isn't) then I hope the focus is returned to finding Maddy and reuniting her with her family.

It is a very well thought out theory.
But it doesn't explain the blood.
My contribution to your theory is that maybe she was drugged to make her sleep but was not given enough, was groggy, tripped & fell awkwardly against something, cut her head & died. Obviously they couldn't get the police then because if they tested her blood they would discover that she had been drugged. This is the part where your theory kicks in.

What this - and all other scenarios - fail to do is explain why the McCanns - universally accepted as model parents and professionals - would do such a thing. Not only so, but have the gall to mount a worldwide publicity campaign while at the same time handling the grief of their daughter's death and the guilt that they felt. It doesn't add up.

It's patently nonsense.

Unless it's true... which I sincerely doubt.

Well done thought for putting such a great story together. Thought of turning your hand to a novel?

Very good theory. One that I've had all along. The only loophole in your story is that it has been claimed that the vehicle had been hired 25 days after her disappearance. Do you think they could have used it to move the body that many days after she was killed?

Yes and I cannot wait until the police disclose the phoned tapped conversations between the McCann party. What will the excuses be then? Well done Dave!
By the way.. any theories on why the blood was found in the hire car 25 days after the girl went missing? Did the McCanns re-hire the same vehicle you mentioned in your blog [maybe to clean it up?]..
I cannot see though how the McCanns could have coincidentally hired a car which was the exact same car used to kill their daughter [by someonelse] 25 days earlier.

That's exactly what it is Dave, a theory.
We have all had different thoughts on what has really happened.
The only thing that is an actual fact is that they left their children alone and because of that Madeleine went missing. The rest is pure speculation, at the moment.

yes, you did, and got a load of abuse for your answers. now things are looking much different aren't they ??? with regard to moving any body after 20 odd days, you know if someone is desperate, determined or deranged enough...they will find a way. wonder how long it will take for any arrests..if there truly IS blood or dna in that car...surely they could/should have arrested them already...why can't they arrest them now ????

They would have needed to have enlisted the help of a local, in order to have hidden the body. Someone who knows the area well, someone with a boat perhaps?
