Love most forms of true country music - Honky Tonk, String Band, Western Swing, Bakersfield Sound, Bluegrass, Western, etc.
Don't hate anybody, but most of the music discussed here is not country music. Its pop music labeled as country because that's what sells. If they thought "astronaut music" was going to be the next big thing, they'd start painting their boots silver and trading their Stetsons for helmets.

Country music today is nothing like it was back in the 60's 70's and even into the 80's. except for a few exceptions it plainly (SUCKS) they try and blend country music with pop,rap and some rock and roll. What ever happened to twin fiddles playing on a hardwood floor, and the sound of steel guitars? Now all we hear is computerized synthetic sounds that can only be made by some machine and not an instrument. Country music has lost it's sound and that's disappointing.

Yeah most of the stuff on the radio is more rock/pop than country. That's why I like a lot of the Texas country artists that sound a little more traditional & the songs are better written.
Pat Green
Kevin Fowler
Charlie Robison
Cory Morrow
and many others

There is still lots of country music made today that returns to the roots of the genre.
I love George Strait (greatest country artist ever), Blackhawk, Alabama, Diamond Rio, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson...
Who do I hate? Well Carrie Underwood's music usually annoys me. I hate Sara Evans most of the time.

I love Emmy Lou Harris. I hate most country music, sorry, but I could listen to Emmy Lou Harris 24/7. I used to like Hank Jr, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Marty Robbins, Dolly Parton, but now these new ones all sound the same and seem like they are contestants on American Idol. Could be I'm the one who changed, but I think the music has changed and seems made for the masses these days and not really from the heart like it used to be.

I played it when I was younger. It's fun. I don't hate any artist.. do like Brad Paisley. Some of the older players too. Vince Gill is very good too. I just grew up listening to jazz and funk so I prefer the jazzier side, but their are some great country players who are monsters.

I think country is turning into rock with a Southern twang. I doubt any major new country singer would be covering any Roy Rogers (except maybe Riders of the Storm) anytime soon.
