Rats make adorable pets and if purchased young from a reputable pet shop, where bred for pets, workers can show good and bad traits, even at about 5 weeks.
Have bred and sold rats as pets at least 14 years.
Choose a male, one that's not jumpy and doesn't nibble. Purchase at about 5-6 weeks of age.
Rats are very intelligent and friendly, like to hang out in a pocket or on neck under the hair.
Average lifespan is 3 years. I don't recommend females. They get mammary gland tumors/cancer frequently, also bite.

More information please.... do you live in a high rise, or do you have a unit or house with a backyard; do you stay home much, or go to work/school most of the week; how much time would you devote to a new pet? How much money do you want to spend?

Baby Pigtail monkey (macaque nemestrina). They are cute adorable and playful. Make sure you adopt 'em when they're still a baby.
