i'm 12, i know how to put on make up, i know that if u dont put on right amounts u look stupid. i dont want to wear any heavy make up, just real light stuff, like mascarra and eyeliner and a natural looking eye shadow color that matches my skin tone. && i know that a lot of people in my class/grade and most of my friends wear make up so u might think that it would be a little intimidating and pressuring to me to wear make up, but really i only know of four or five girls out of the 9 girls that are in my class. && i've asked my mom if i could wear make up, and she said i could wear it in our house just not in public, but she hasnt said anything about me wearing eyeliner in public, which i usually do, and they know that i'm responsible like my mom has MS so i have to take care of her a lot and my dad usually has late meetings at work. and i babysit and take care of our pets and clean the house and do the dishes and things like that so they know im responsible.

I think that if a lot of people in your school wear makeup, then it's fine because life is all about fitting in (kind of, for some people it is).

I think if the girl is pretty enough, she doesn’t need to wear make-up at all. Smart girls do not do what others are doing just to feel “in”. It’s about having confidence with what you have and what you’ve got. Instead of imitating/following others, be original and make your own identity or trademark. Let me add, there is no “right age” for a woman to wear make-up but personally, a woman is ready when she is already earning income for herself and not depending on parents or anyone to buy her stuffs.

Just so you know, you'll be daddy's little girls long after you're 18, believe me lol. But I know where you're coming from, I was never into the powder, eyeshadow, blush and all that either, but when I was 13 I started to wear light layer of black eyeliner. I'm not into mascara because it's not good for your eyelashes, but eyeliner's cool. If you really want to wear some eyeliner I say go for it. But don't try to look grown up, because that's just one of those things that the harder you try the less it works. Hope it goes over well, lol. They might get over it after the initial shock of you wearing makeup for the first time, as it becomes more familiar they'll get more comfortable. As long as you don't start doing the whole lipstick, blush, and eyeshadow thing.

14 is a good age to begin wearing make-up in public. This is the average age of a beginning high-school student and you really don't need make-up before that. Besides it's damaging to the skin and as an adolescent you're already likely to have some type of skin issues to deal with, why make it worse? The biggest reason for waiting is that you'll grow up fast enough and when you engage in behavior that is considered adult, people will assume you behave in other adult ways.

14 is good
But why need to wear makeup besides concealer and chapstick? That's okay from age 12 and on, maybe lip gloss
Wait a few months, and then start with clear mascara and LIGHT eyeliner.

I agree with the people who said lip gloss for now, light eye make-up when you go to high school. At 12 you really don't need anything to look gorgeous!

at 12, stick to lip gloss...I didnt start wearing makeup until 9th grade and I only wore it on my eyes. Dont be in a rush to grow up. I must say though, at age 12and you know not to overapply, there are 30 year olds who still cant figure that out

Just try some lipstick. Natural look is good.
All women who look good in make-up wish they looked like that naturally, without having to put on anything...

I think you should wait until the 8th grade to wear makeup.

i think at 12 you can wear lip gloss
at 13-14yo is when you can start wearing more... shadow blush mascara
kids these days are growing so fast and so many don't even look thier ages!
you are responsible but don't let anyone pressure you to do something you aren't allowed to do or ready for.
i'm sure your mom is making sure you don't rush your childhood :)
