Because the books taught in school probably wouldn't be read by students if they were not an assignment. They are classic literature that has some important lessons for you to learn from them. And the state sets the curriculum and standards that teachers have to follow.

First, Answers isn't the place to look for help for your homework.

It depends a lot on what books you like. Most teachers at school pick universal classics like Dickens or Shakespeare, that most people like or admire, others pick newer writers.

Personally, I remember been asigned to read Wuthering Heights. At first I hated it, it was an old fashioned novel and difficult to read at first. After two chapters I loved it.

because maybe some of the books u like to read are not appropriate or it just doesn't hav the right tenses, verbs or grammars in it. and as authors hav to choose the rights words for their books they do not actually follow the proper english grammars. for example, when they use 'but' or 'and' to start a sentence or when they write sentences made of only 1 - 3 words.
as students, we cnt use this kind of english like the authors

I used Abeka for my son and we ended up hating it. It improve into too scripted and boring. My daughter used some little pastime books from Christian mild preparation for the 1st 0.5 of kindergarten. They have been great. Then we moved directly to their first grade application "gaining know-how of to study". I spent a year and 0.5 doing their finished first grade application considering that they did no longer have kindergarten then. This stored it greater comfortable. via then she improve into on purpose for 2d grade. They now have a prevalent kindergarten curriculum. We nonetheless use Christian mild (I switched my son after to it after first grade). they are very decrease priced and academically sound. My young ones love the form of actives interior the classes.
