well, research shows that one actually gets closer to their parents when they get older. i guess because you can relate to them more. with that said, i haven't gotten to the point where i can truly open up to them. i know their opinions on some of my likes. they don't really care for them. i'm hoping with time i finally be able to get some things off my chest. i'm sure they will be shocked to find out what have done and what i'm still doing. but, i'm not planning to tell them until i'm at a point where i'm comfortable with myself and i'm not trying to live up to their expectations.

I'm closer now. My parents are retired and now depend on me for lots of things. It's the reverse of how things were when I was little

Now because I'm more grown up and I'm a mom now so I understand better now why they always told me how and when to do things. I appreciate then a whole lot more now that I 'm older and a parent

I guess now... I keep in touch with my mom at least 2-3 times a week.. My dad didn't like talking on the phone to much then he passed away exactly 1 year ago yesterday..

Close to my parents now? Are you kidding? Those two didn't deserve the four kids they had, as irresponsible as they are! No, I'm not close to them now. And you know what? I'm totally fine with that.
