You can speed up your laptop by adding memory (RAM). But a laptop usually has only two RAM sockets. If they are both used, you will have to throw out the old ones and insert a new memory module that contain denser RAMs. Usually, they are either SDRAM, DDR or DDR-2 notebook memories.

To get more space to install more program or hold more MP3 and JPG files, you need a larger hard disk. Laptops usually takes only one hard disk, which means you have to re-install windows and all programs. It's better to buy a USB connected External hard disk (you can get those on sale all the time) and dump all you picture and music files on them to free space on your internal disk drive for more programs.

Well by ROM I am guessing you mean a hard drive or a cdrom? You can purchase External Hard Drives and External CD Rom Drives which make it easy to transport. I would not suggest installing a non external drive outside of the computer because it looks bad, but you could... RAM I am guessing you are talking about memory you cannot add externally, it must be connected directly to the motherboard... This question is kinda vague so hopefully I answered your question!

U cannot add ROM (as in chips) toa PC now anyway, and NO RAM MUST be installed internally, unless you run Vista in which case they can use SOME USB keys as extra (slower) Ram.
