Yes it is an illusion just like everything else in this world. What we see and comprehend is all only what we want to. Faith is just another way to comprehend why things happen and to bring comfort to one self.

Faith is not illusion. It is absolute belief in something that is unseen. You may not believe that there are people in China but that doesn't mean that your lack of belief makes it true. You may not believe that the world is round but that does not change the fact that it is. On the other hand, if you have faith that your chair will hold your weight just as it has so many times before, you may find your faith be justified. To question faith is to lack it. Your beliefs are important to your moral core. You know what is right so do it. You know that the big bang didn't just spontaneously occur because everything must come from something. There is a higher power and your faith only justifies you in the end. Believe and feel free. It's what is best for you and others. Doubt only betrays us all.

Faith can't be an illusion because it is a feeling of trust in something not seen.An illusion conotates that faith might not be real. One person's belief's can't be determined as illusion.
Faith is personal.

Faith is based on belief not factual evidence. It is a presumption that your faith will make things happen. If you believe in God it is best to say may your will be done! Not mine! If something happens from faith then it is "faith that has done this - not God is implied.
I don't think Jesus advocated Faith - he often comments on faith as something absurd.- "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed then you say to mountain move and it will move". Faith says the impossible can happen. Jesus and the ancient Jews believen in Faithfulness to God this is differant from Faith.

No, it's an ignorant feeling, whether or not the thing one has faith in is real.
