....... they always pick the WORST, most UNFLATTERING pictures of them to put on the news???
It's always the 'bad hair day' or the 'food in the teeth' or the 'in the ugly knit sweater grandma made you for x-mas that adds 20lbs' pictures that they post. And some of these people aren't half-bad looking! Why don't they use good pictures of them?

*thinks* i think i'm going to have to make an "if i ever get kidnapped" scrapbook of all my best photos and head-shots, that way.... if the unfortunate day ever comes where i do turn up missing....at least i'll know that my "major break-out of zits" photo won't be the "have you seen me?" pic that makes it to network television!

Maybe if they picked the person's cutest picture, instead of picking the uglyiest one, other people would be encouraged to find them?? LMAO.....It's like, "she's missing, have you seen her?" ...*looks at pic* ..."OMG NO! and i don't think i want to!" ... roflmao! ♥

Is it just me...or do you wonder this as well?

LarryJ7: erm..... this was a humerous observation, and erm..... i disagree, i'd rather not look like dogmeat should they ever send out a search party..... lol (as most likely if it;s longer than a week, they'd never find me anyhow....so, i'd rather mine be a good photo.. but thanks! ♥)

Hah! I agree with you. It is like when your mom tells you to wear clean underwear. You might get in an accident and heaven forbid you have on dirty underwear. I can see it now, I am bleeding and in trauma, and he is looking at my undies......

Well beanbrain
Turtle and Robot have it on the nailhead with this one ----- BY DESIGN most "missing persons" professionals want an "everyday" look to publish on the individual in question because in most circumstances that individual ----SHOULD they BE in a place to BE noticed ----would most assuredly NOT be in "glamour shots" form !!! They want a photo that most closely resembles the person in a normal and unpreped
appearance !!

I'm sure -- that in the "real world" should you ever go "missing"
you would be opting to be located and returned FAR greater than having your EGO out on a limb for the way you appear on the report and announcements !!!

I haven't noticed that. Sure they're not glamor shots, but who has those hanging around the house? Also, sometimes it's just a case of 'born ugly' and there ARE no good pictures.

As far as the two points go... that's a lot to read for an "easy 2 points", I mean you can get two points no matter what question you answer.

Maybe they choose the picture based on what the person looks like on any normal day. A missing person probably doesn't have perfect hair or makeup all done up under the circumstances.

Well look at it this way - when these people are found alive, they don't exactly look like they are fresh from a Glamour Shots photo shoot, do they? They look more like they do in those God-awful pictures.

LOL i like your humor. (: well, when families lose their children (who could be in grave danger) they don't really have the cool to look for the best photos, huh?
