No. Some do, but many rockstars are in their 60's, seemingly having tons of energy left in them. About ten more years and they will have lived a good, long life.

According to the recent news story ( a couple of days ago, see link):

Living fast and dying young has long been part of rock 'n' roll lore.

And now there are statistics that affirm the image, according to a study released Tuesday.

Researchers at Liverpool John Moores University, whose report appeared in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, studied a sample of North American and British rock and pop stars and concluded they are more than twice as likely to die a premature death as ordinary citizens of the same age.

The team studied 1,064 stars from the rock, punk, rap, R&B, electronic and new age genres in the "All Time Top 1,000" albums published in 2000. They compared each artist's age at death with that of European and U.S. citizens of similar backgrounds, sex and ethnicity.

Mark Bellis, leader of the study, said his research showed the stereotype of rock stars was true -- recreational drugs and alcohol-fueled parties take a toll.

The likeliness of a rock or pop star dying young is much greater than the average population, mainly due to the lifestyles alot of them lead...busy lives with drugs and alot of alcohol.

Nope Urban Legend............ Look at your rappers what were they Tupac? Biggie something? And I thought it was the blast of the gun that killed Cobain not the drugs..... Although SOME do go out that way....... Janis, Jimi, Morrisson all joined the 27 forever club I believe it was called, as did Cobain when he was well murdered or whatever happened.

Anyway, when it's time to die it's time to die.-

they die early because they do drugs and stuff. Look at Kurt Cobain. he's the lead singer for Nirvana and he died early because he overdosed on drug.
