My 1997 Chevy blazer has just had a rebuilt tranny and when its cold it runs great for about 15-20 minutes, it shifts like new 1,2,3,4. smooth as glass. After it gets warm the check engine light comes on and I only have 2nd and 3rd and I have to shift to 2nd manually. now i have been told I need a transmission control solenoid, I have also been told that I just need to flash the computer and reset the codes, I have also been told it could also be a relay. Ok I'm sure all valid remedies I just need to know which is the most likely and still allows me to eat!!!
I posted this question b-4 just not in detail like this (sorry guys)
but I need help. If this helps it is a 2 door 4wd 4.3 ltr W/ac. some body save me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chevy mechanics don't know how to fix it. They just made some s***ty transmissions in the late 90's and I traded mine in on a newer car, so far so good. You could pour all of your money into it, it will still be a 97 Chevy and it will still slip.

Best bang for your buck, buy a newer car.

This is classic drop in fluid pressure. Possibly the tranny fluid pump (inside tranny) but here's the more likely problem:

It is low on fluid. Some trannys react this way if they are just one quart low and others three quarts low.

Check it out with the engine running cold and then later when it is running hot and starts skipping.

If it is properly full, then you'll need to take it in for some warranty service.

Good Luck!

If you just recently had it done I would take it back to the shop and tell them what is happening.
