I think it is jealousy, because some women can't seem to figure that you are saving more money staying home with a baby and building a strong relationship than spending money on stuff you need to work plus childcare, taxes. I wouldn't make anything if I worked full-time, outside!
Plus, it is nice having someone doing the stuff at home so couples/families can enjoy more time together on days off!

Because there has never been an actual monetary value attached to being a housewife. People that don't know anything about what a housewife does take their understanding from T.V and movies. Most of the time housewives are portrayed as fat, ugly, house robe wearing, soap opera watching nosy, lazy women. When that is just so opposite of what a housewife is. We are strong, smart. talented, beautiful, intelligent women. We take care of the children, the hubby, the cat and the dog. I personally on more than one occasion have stayed up all night with sick children. Unless someone can walk in a housewife's shoes they have no right to think low of them.

I work full time and do the same thing as a housewife. I cook, clean, shop, pay bills, run the kids blah blah blah. I figure if I can do all that and find time to entertain myself, there isn't much reason for a woman to stay home. I don't think low of them though. If a couple decides that is how they want to structure their house then whose to say they are wrong?

I don't know, I don't think that way.
Being a housewife is my dream job, being the best wife, the super Mom and not having anyone to tell you what to do.
If I could only afford being at home I would be a housewife.

I think it's because women are supposed to work AND take care of the kids AND do the cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping. EVERYTHING! and when a woman doesn't work people call her lazy because she isn't bringing any money in, but they don't value taking care of the kids and the home.

People think that because housewives don't make money. Money is so important to this society, that a perosn is considered to be "doing nothing" if they don't make money.
But don't listen to those people...don't let them judge you.

that is not true not everyone things low of housewifes but there are some outthere they are the most hard working people i have seen its hard to keep house clean kids clean and wash up and neatness you try it take care.

I think some people are just mad cause they have to get up in the morning (especially in the winter) & go out & work while we get to stay home & work. They forget however they get paid for what they do & we don't.
