That's an interesting question, in that most people pick up their loyalties as a child and stay with them. I've had a couple of changes over the years. I used to hate the Buffalo Bills and Syracuse football because of obnoxious announcers. Then I moved to Buffalo and went to college in Syracuse, and that all changed.

I rooted for the Red Sox and Celtics because my parents did. My Celtic loyalties have strayed. I became a UCLA fan near the start of the Alcindor era and have stayed with them somewhat ever since -- although I've not overly enthusiastic as compared to the Red Sox.

The titles were nice (Syracuse hoops '03, Red Sox '04), but the ride is enjoyable in all cases.
