To be a professional fisherman is very hard work. Enjoyment is not an indicator to whether something is work or not; effort is. Even though you enjoy the effort, it doens't make it none the less work. So the qoute is logically flawed, though cute and funny. It'll go over well with rednecks and fishermen.
