First of all, Bush didn't handle the war on terror properly. Invading Iraq without concrete evidence that Saddam Hussein was a threat against us or connected to Al-Quaida was very irrational. Even if Bush did find evidence, he should have addressed Saddam Hussein individually, not the entire country. Bush should be sending our troops and resources to Darfur instead. Bush is also corrupt because he uses propaganda to scare us into supporting the war on terror and he's lied to us about the progress of the war. He makes it sound like we're winning and it's going well, when in reality, it's a catastrophe!
I also don't appreciate Bush's negligence to the poor and the environment. Bush spends millions of dollars fighting a gratuitous war when he could be using those millions of dollars for government programs to help the poor. Hurricane Katrina was an ignominy indeed. I fear for our planet when we have a president who denies that global warming is a reality and doesn't do anything about it. He doesn't seem to do anything to limit greenhouse gas emissions or address conservation of energy.
I'm against abortion and gay marriage, like Bush is. He said he would change the abortion law and proposed a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. So, why hasn't he implemented these policies already? Why is he playing on the hope in the eyes of anti-abortionists and anti-gay marriage advocates like me? Look, I want my president to be someone I can trust and I don't trust manipulative people.
So,Bush is worth hating because of his twisted foreign policy, his corruption, his mixed priorities, and his manipulation.

so.. you're saying that Republicans love the government now?
I thought it was Republicans that said government "was evil, inefficient and shouldn't be trusted" and should thus, be very small and limited...
our government is VERY, VERY, VERY LARGE... and NOT LIMITED AT ALL...
so, Republicans think that's a good thing now and see nothing wrong with it? strange birds you are?
but, do you ever keep up with government... the constant scandals and lying...
JACK ABRAMOFF? RING A BELL?
I'll say it again... so maybe it will be "coherent"
JACK ABRAMOFF (let me know if this is the first you've heard of him... I can site some stories)
and of course, he's not the only one... but that alone is enough evidence to prove you point several times over...
and you say "government" in your question... and "Bush" in later in your question? which is it? this isn't very "coherent"?
EDIT: why do Republcians talk about citing facts so often... yet cite so little? the rare occasion they do cite anything... the vast majority of the time... it's an opinion column... do Repubicans think that they are facts?

That is because the U.S. Government has sold out it's own citizens. All you have to do is look around you and see that everything is getting worse. The inflation is very bad. the taxes on the middle/working class has never been higher. Also the value of the money is less now than it has ever been. In 1968 $5.00 could take a family of four to see a movie and still have money left over for popcorn. Now it takes more than that. It will now take $35.00 plus five dollars more for a bag of popcorn.
In 1980 the US govt destroyed the labor movement here in the US when Pres. Ronald Regan fired all the air traffic controllers in the country when they went on strike for better wages and less stressful working conditions.
There used to be company sponsered pensions for workers and most workers worked for one company ofr years and then retired with a paid comapny pension. Now the corporations make us workers save our own money in 401k plans and the govt lets corporations like enron steal peoples life savings form their 401k-plans.
The US govt does not protect it's borders and their by puts all us citizens in danger. We now have no freedom of travel becasue we have to show ID when we get on an airplane. sounds like the former comunist soviet Union where the people had to have an internal passport to travel inside thier own country.
Our educational system is in ashambles and we are 42 in educational ratings against other countries. The US govt has allowed millins of jobs to be lost to overseas off shoring (jobs going to India sych as customer service operators engineering and architect jobs. Also the US govt has allowed business to bring in hyndreds of thousands of skilled workers into this country and then they have the nerve to tell us that they have to let the corporations bring in all these foreign workers nurses doctors insurance office workers etc. Even teachers in many cities. All these people will work for less money and in this way the business does not have to pay so much for a skilled American worker.
If anyone remembers that in the 1950's and 1960's most men could earn enough to have a house and a car and raise a family and have the mother stay at home to raise the kids and the money went further. Now it takes to parents to work and people don't have as much as before. (they may have more consumer products than beofre i=pods video games computers etcc SUV's but most of these have been bought on credit and most people are very high into debt.
It is now so expensive that many people are losing their homes. Yet the US govt won't help it's own citizens and yet they will spend billions of dollars each year on aid to foreign countries.
It makes no difference who is president or who becomes president or who has been president or who controls congress whether the republicans or the democrats becasue the rich keep getting richer and more and more of us are becomming poorer and poorer.
All my contentions can be supported by fact. All a person has to do is to research on line and also to just take notice of how the quality of life is here in this country now due to the fact that the US govt desn't help it's own citizens.
That is why there is a growing number of people who realizethat the corporations and the govt are to blame for our troubles as far as the working class is concerned.

It just cracks me up how right-wingers want to constantly whine about people "hating" and "bashing" Bush. First of all, this question has been posted a bunch of times, and many people, including me, have taken the time to explain to you guys that there's a difference between hating someone and vehemently disagreeing with his policies. Secondly, you are the same people who decimated and destroyed Clinton for eight years and thought that was perfectly fine.
Does the hypocrisy never end? Is there a person on the right who is ever philosophically consistent and who can say, well, let's admit it, we practiced politics of destruction on Clinton and now they're saying bad things about Bush, so it comes out even? Or can you not even see the imbalance of your complaints?
In fact, this question has been asked and answered so many times that I thought I’d save typing time by throwing a few links your way. Have fun reading them—there’s some truly great answers!

Oh, and P.S., the people who really hate the government are the people who form the Bush administration, because they do not believe in government or governing and have the intention to shrink the government until it can fit in a bathtub. Google it--you'll find the quote.

Do you confuse Bush with the US government? I'm not answering for those who do hate the US government, but you switch from asking about why they hate the US government to why they hate Bush, and I'm wondering if you conflate the two.
Many who revere the US Constitution hate Bush for violating it.
