They might have, but booty was not comfortable and I think a week off after their 1st game is gonna come back and bite them next week. GO HUSKERS :)

Why does USC need a week off in the second week of the season after playing Idaho? They've had months to prepare for Nebraska and now they need more time. I smell Tiger bait.

I was at the game and the score indicates nothing about the game. After the Trojans got up 21-0, they started putting in the 2nd string. They knew they had it won, and would of blanked the Vandals with their first string had it not been for a marginal 4th down conversion to keep alive the field goal drive. The Vandals TD was set up by a bad interception by the 3rd (yes THIRD) string QB. So no, they weren't playing down to Idaho's level, except maybe in the sense that are 3rd stringers are about as good as Idaho's first stringers. When Sarkessian opens up the playbook in Lincoln, the Huskers aren't going to know what hit them.

Well, before you starting worrying about USC Cowboy Huskers fan, you should worry about Wake Forest first, because that's your Huskers next opponent tomorrow. Plus Wake Forest is not chopped livers, they're the ACC defending champion last year and with alot of players returning this year, they should be good again even they lost last week to B.C. Eagles, they're a good team in the ACC. But if the Huskers lose to Wake Forest, I'm going to laugh at Huskers fan for looking ahead to USC. Remember Huskers fans, the old saying goes, one game at a time. But if you insist on saying USC is not as good as huskers fans are saying, just ask your starting QB, he haven't beat USC yet while he's at ASU. Fight On! Fight On to Victory.

They were up 21-0 early in the second quarter and took a 38-3 lead into the fourth quarter. Why show Nebraska any more of the offense than they need to see?

If anything, the week off will help SC, while Nebraska has a big trap game waiting for them in Winston-Salem. They need to be the ones not looking ahead, as the Demon Deacons can pull off the upset.

Yes. They always play down to their competition unless there is something riding on it like the polls or a bowl game. They did it with Palmer, Leinart, and now Booty. It got them a couple of times last year with Oregon State and UCLA and also when they got beat by Cal in Palmer's last season. It's kind of hard to motivate a team of All-Americans to get up every week when the probability of them losing is low. I know that sounds cocky, but it happens all the time in sports and business.
