Just as a kind thing to say.

Neither, really. There are a lot of Buddhists here. They greet with, "Namaste," and bow. There are so many Spanish speakers here, they greet you with "Ola! Qué pasa?," even if it's obvious that you're not of Latin descent. Wiccans say "blessed be," instead of "goodbye." They are showing me respect based on their frame of reference, and I appreciate that, but it doesn't have much of a emotional response.

It makes me feel good. I say "God bless you" or "Bless you" all the time when people sneeze.

the other way around, i don't tell people God bless you when they sneeze and I won't be offended if I don't hear it either. But in other situations, I don't mind as much.

I appreciate their blessing. What a nice thought.
People give what they can. If it was Willy Wonka, I'd get a chocolate bar.
