hire a paralegal to draw up the papers for 99 bucks or so...they are all over in most states....get the other to sign...and file them at the court. 30 days , 60 days or 90 days later, you'll have a court date. show up with 2 witnesses usually, and they will have to testify that you've been living apart. the judge signs and you are divorced.....depending on the state you are in of course.
that is how my first divorce went down.

You are going to need at least a mediator unless you two are on such good terms that you can figure everything out.
Usually that lasts for about 15 minutes. Once the disagreement starts the offended party reaches for a lawyer and everything goes to hell.
Try mediation first. It's usually cheaper.

If it won't be contested then talk to a mediator. They are much cheaper and the two of you can split the cost. If there is stuff to fight over, get a lawyer. You can file papers yourself as well. Call the court house and they'll give you some steps.

I got mine through AssistedDivorce.com and didn't get "royally screwed". My divorce was uncontested...and I hope yours is too. Otherwise you will need a lawyer because contested divorces are 10x more complicated and too hard to do on your own. However, if your case is uncontested... then hiring a lawyer to do it is like hiring a mechanic to put air in your tires. You didn't need a lawyer to get married and you don't need one to get divorced.

Use an incantation. Or slash his tires!!
Ya slash his tires. Or maybe you can take him pheasant hunting and take care of it that way.
I guess I am trying to say.
He still loves you, but you are pushing him away with your weight, and your addiction to Jenny Jones.

Don't do it yourself! That would be like a doctor performing surgery on himself. My sister did what you're thinking of doing, and she was screwed royally!
