The appeal of plastic canvas is that it's fun and enjoyable to make. You should sell patterns if you sell anything.

I'd look into crafter's malls in the area. The way these work is that you have your own booth, and probably are required to spend a certain amount of time as a cashier, and you will either give a percentage of your sales or a flat fee to the mall owner. This one requires a minimal amount of time spent selling.
You can also sign up for crafter's fairs and bazaars, which often have a better coverage of shoppers, but the frequency is perhaps once per year. Essentially you work the table with your goods for the day.
You can also go with flea markets, which have a higher frequency than fairs and bazaars, but don't always bring the kinds of buyers willing to pay top dollar.
If you want to sell online, you've got two very good options, one setting up your own web site (which is time consuming) and the other is to use an online auction like ebay. ebay also would be a good way to research what similar items are selling for, which would help you gauge your probable profit margin.
Here's a site with good info on getting started:

I have had people at church tell me I should sell what I make. I have determined that some of the items, like purse accessories, I would only get about a dollar at a yard sale or craft show. I have been thinking about advertising that I'll make items to your specs for a price. (I just found out that my local Wal-Mart store took out all plastic canvas items and a great deal of the extras, like eyes and pom-poms. I will have to drive 30 + miles to go to another Wal-Mart or hobby shop.) I live between Ft. Wayne and South Bend IN Good Luck! (I even have made Barbie Kitchens and other Barbie furniture.)

I will not repeat the previous answers. I will suggest you not do your own printing. The canvas is expensive, the ink is expensive, and unless you have a capable printer, you have a new printer to buy. Then after the photo is printed.. what then? It still has to be streatched onto wooden frames and / or mounted into a "floating" canvas frame. I suggest you have the printing done online. As already mentioned, there is Canvas on Demand. I use Simply Canvas, but you have to be in business to have an account with them... they only work with professionals. But you can get canvas prints done at Mpix, which is very good quality, and even Shutterfly does canvas prints. steve

There is not much demand for plastic canvas items in the craft market. Creating your own designs and selling the patterns is the best idea for you if you want to make money doing that type of craft.

Try etsy. It's an online site that caters to sellers and buyers of handmade items only. I have a site there and do pretty well. Just go to www.etsy.com and create an account. They charge 20 cents per listing and a 3.5% selling fee, but you get your own shop, your listings stay up for four months, you get five pics per listing, and there are no hidden fees. It's super easy to list things. Plus, it's A LOT cheaper than ebay. I'd try it for a month or two (or four since that's how long listings stay up) and see how you do.
