Of course it keeps on flashing after a tune up.
That light isn't meant to tell you to get a tune up but to get the engine checked because there is something wrong with the car.

Mechanics have a machine that will tell them the problem based on a code the computer tells them. You will have to take it to a mechanic to find out exactly what the problem is. This often costs between $60 and $100. You can drive it for a while after the light comes on but you don't want to risk driving too long. Sometimes the problem is minor but sometimes it can cause problems and maybe even cause the car to shut down or not start. They can often tell just by the sound of the engine or the symptoms what is wrong but they will have to find out what the code says (which means attaching it to the machine) because there could be one problem causing another.

It could be a million things. Oil change or is low, tune-up issues, just too many to name.
However, it could also be the computer. If the light doesn't stay on, don't worry, but have the car checked if you can somehow miraculously locate a reputable mechanic.
It usually isn't anything big, and with that many miles on it, you may never stop the light from flashing.

The light means that your emissions system need to be checked. The system activates this feature at a predetermined mileage to alert you to have it checked. Your dealer can check the system and turn off the light. Another option would be to google "2002 Honda Civic maintenance light reset." You should find a site there to tell you how to reset the light.

Many cars have "Maint Required" lights that come on at oil change intervals. My Saturn LS2 had a light that came on saying "Oil Change" every 3,000 miles. My new Toyota Prius has a "Maint Req" light that comes on every 5,000 miles to signal oil change time. Look in your owners manual for a reset procedure after oil changes.

Take it to AutoZone and have them pull the code(s) to identify the problem. It may be the Intake Air Temperature Sensor or Circuit.
Once they have pulled the code they will tell you what this means they'll sell you the part to fix it.
Good Luck!

Hi..
It means it's time to take your care in for a maintenance checkup..
Either take your car to the place of purchase, if you have a warranty...or find a reputable station where you can bring your car to..
Good Luck Hon!
