I feel like I am not getting enough air into my lungs lately, this has only been happening today and yesterday. I don't know what is wrong, but I have been having a little obsession with air freshener at the beginning of the week, I didn't inhale it or anything, lol, I just was spraying all over the house constantly so our home will smell good, would that have anything to do with this? What do you think could be wrong??

Well I did have a panic attack once, but that was like a week ago, I had dizziness, I was lightheaded, I was hot but sweating cold, I had constant "butterfly's" in my stomach or when it feels like your stomach is dropping, I felt I couldn't get enough air(but this feels like I can't get enough air INTO my lungs) and when I tried breathing out slowly it would be all shaky and I saw black dots everywhere(like when you get a head rush, but it lasted way longer) but that was a while ago, and I haven't gotten that again.

It could be that the air freshener has caused a bit of inflamation in your lungs. Try opening a few windows to get the chemicals out of the house.

It could also be a type of panic attack.

If you have tried taking deep breaths and are getting light headed, you may be hyperventilating, try taking a few breaths from a paper bag to see if this helps.

Yawning when not tired is generally a lack of oxygen or dehydration, have a few glasses of water, and get out into the fresh air.

you i get that sometimes, where if feels like i can't take a breath that is deep enough to satisfy my lungs, i've been feeling this type of thing for a long time now.....i was worried i might have like mild asthma or something.....it might be stress, but if so i must be stress out like 60% of the time and i'm pretty sure i'm not......sometimes when i feel all sort of breathe like that i take as big a breath i can through my nose and then hold it for a few seconds, and then let it go.....that seems to help regulate my breathing for a while.......i hope that helps. ;) XD feel better soon!

I call it stress asthma. Anxiety or stress can trigger it. Try baby breathing. Babies always breath with their stomache, not the upper chest. Put your hands gently on your tummy and breath from the tummy, when you feel the tummy going up and down then you are doing it. Now, still tummy breathing, take a slow breath in, counting to five, then hold it in, counting to five and then slowly breath out counting to five. Do this 3 to 5 times, not only will it relax you it will help to regulate your breathing. Do this anytime you feel that you aren't getting enough air into your lungs.

Try and breath in slowly through your nose, that will help fill your lungs with oxygen. And don't panic that causes shortness of breath.

That's what happens to me when I feel a panic attack coming on. Any stressful situations or things that could of triggered rapid heart beats and hyperventilation?

It sounds to me like anxiety. I have suffered with it for probably 20 years. I had those same symptoms. You don't need to suffer, though. You doctor can help you with medication, meditation, biofeedback, and other items. What I believe you have is called GAD (generalized anxiety disorder). Good luck. Lori

You probably have a build up of tar in your lungs. Smoking causes lots of problems. I know a few people who got lung cancer from it. You may want to get checked out by a doctor to rule out cancer. Definitely stop smoking as soon as possible.
