we are going to be getting a 45 foot motorhome and I want to tow my mini van. Do I need any special equiptment? Example do I need a trailer to put it on?

Check with the manufacturer of the mini-van. You may be able to tow it 4 wheels down. Or a 2 wheel dolly and if push comes to shove a trailer. You might ask the dealer about Remco disconnects. I had to have 2 put on my aging jeep.

addendum, check with the laws in your State, many have a maximum lenght allowed law.

And another thing you might want to look into is "VIP" braking system. It will automatically apply the brakes in the van when going down steep inclines and will apply the brake if the van happens to somehow become disconnected from the RV..

I would prefer a trailer to get all wheels off the ground. At 45 feet you won't know whats happening back there. Saves a lot of problems that could develop with the towed vehicle. You need to test drive the trailer with it's load to be absolutely sure it tracks with no side sway or fishtail action. Not all trailers are the same.

i agree put it on a trailer and get yourself a back up camera so you can see whats going on out there
