i just learned about this whole 2012 thing and im freaken SCARED!!!!! is this stuff true?

Don't be scared. I have studied the Mayan Astrology which is what a lot of people are basing this theory on. However, I do not believe it is actually the end of the world. I believe that what is coming is more a change in humanity. A spiritual evolution in how we relate to each other. I think in many ways we can already see and feel some of the shift in music, i.e. the songs of John Mayer, Nickleback and some of the effects that even some things you would consider bad have in terms of bringing out the compassion and empathy we sorely need.

I would suggest that you read a book entitled "The Celestine Prophecy" by James Redfield. It is a very fast paced novel based on spiritual themes that is very easy to understand and I think you will enjoy it since you are interested in spiritual & new age themes. Keep asking questions but most of all follow your heart.

The year 2012 is the end of the great galactic cycle. Many cultures recognize the great galactic cycle. The Mayan calendar was simply the most accurate at tracking it

There may be no more stupendous events than the start of the year 2000 that everyone was panicking about. In my religion it indicates the end of the Wolf Age and the Start of the Axe Age, which is signified by the death of the Fenris wolf and all his spawn (basically those who do not respect the laws or the rights of others).

It won't mean the end of the world. It merely indicates change, and sometimes change is good.

First thing don't worry too much I've lived through approximately five predicted ends of the World and the 2000 bug.
I know that that does not mean that this time isn't it but I'm skeptical.
Second it is certainly interesting that the Mayan calender ends in our date 2012. I'm far from an expert in such things but I think it means the beginning of a new cycle. So in fact it may be grounds for hope. I know many people who believe it is the beginning of a radical change for the better in human consciousness.
Thirdly if you want to be freaking scared believe me there are plenty of more immediate things to be sacred of.
Also remember the old Buddhist saying, 'You don't know which will come first your next breath or your next life.' Don't worry about a possible future too much enjoy the present you have.

If you actually look into the mechanics behind the Mayan calendar, I think you'll find that the astronomical phenomenon that was used as the "ending marker" of this present era has already come and gone, back in the 90's, I think. Their astronomy just wasn't accurate enough to pin down the precise date of this astronomical event, and their estimate of 2012 has got New Age freaks all in a tizzy.

It's all a load of bunk. It's not any more likely that the world's going to end in 2012 than in any other year. Just do a little research (I forgot where I read what I read) and you'll find the same thing.

Why are you scared about a calendar ending? What you are being made afraid of are the predictions made by random people that the world will end... It's not true since the Mayan calendar just ends.. It doesn't say "The world will end at this point" it just stops with no predictions, or reason as to why it just flat out ends.

Stop freaking out over some stupid uneducated rumors going around... Or else you will worry yourself to death and forget to live your life.

Nah, not really dude. Whoever told you this is just trying to scare you. Remember what happened 7-7-07 and the year 2000. This is all fake. Yes, that is what the mayans predicted but they all died way more earlier, so their end of the world already happened.

People that can "see/predict" the future can only see what's in the subconscious of others, not the physical world around us. What's been occuring is a huge change in the train of thought in the last century, thus driving the predicted change. It's not physical though but mental.

Its a time of revelation?every book religion and messiah says that and looking at the current world its a good thing,But there might be nukes that fall(about60% 40% chance with current USA) but in general some will survive and we go straight to the golden age well...some.

It won't happen. How could the ppl of old KNOW when the world will end??? NO THEY COULDN'T!!!! No one can tell when the world is gonna end, but it is NOT going to be in 2012. Or anytime soon. Hope this helps =)

Without having a clue what you mean by 2012 I'll guess that a meteor will fall on your grave and remove all traces of your body from the area. Is that something to be scared about?
