I'm tired of their grass being all tall - that's my neighbors on one side. Then the ones down the street are always standing out in the yard talking, leaning against their cars, and I have to drive by and see them.

I say ignore it.

It may be slightly annoying, but you're probably a little annoying to them, too. Save the "fussing" for big issues, like excessive noise or a dog pooping on your lawn.

First of all, the high grass should be a mandatory length by your town. You can report the high grass to your city council. You can do this anonymous. As far as your neighbors out conversing with the other neighbors, leave them be. They are just being social. Perhaps, you could be more social with all your neighbors, then it would not be such a problem if perhaps a neighbors lawn is getting too high. Perhaps, the neighbor is having a medical issue and is not able to mow their lawn. If thats the case, offer to help them. I think your being a bit too picky on the neighbors socializing with one another tho. As long as they are not leaning on your car, then let it go.

No, you shouldn't fuss with them. You should check on your neighbor with the overgrown lawn to see if perhaps they are elderly, ill, or a single mother with no time or mower with which to mow . If they are, you may want to do your neighborly duty and cut the grass for them. If they are none of these, you can contact your city to determine if there is a statute that the city needs to enforce.

As for the neighbors who stand in the yard or sit on their cars, while chatting, if this annoys you, you may want to start thinking seriously about moving.

It is never a good idea to irritate your neighbors. Sometimes you just need to find a neighborhood which is a better "fit" for your sensibilities.

Well, you can't do anything about people standing in their front yard talking, in fact, that seems like a rather trivial complaint.
You can do something about the tall grass if the city you live in has laws against high grass, some do because of the asthetics, others because of the threat of ticks. You could call the city to find out.

Buy a goat for the neighbors with the tall grass. Buy lawn chairs for the neighbors standing and leaning on their cars. There that should fix the problem.

Pull the stick out of your a$$.
Its THERE home, they can do whatever they please.
As long as they are not breaking any laws, and as far as I know, standing out in the yard and leaning against cars talking isn't against the law. Nor is tall grass.
Your the kind of neighbor i dread.

You should def. tell your neighbors to cut the grass. but you dont have to fuss at them do it nicely. Then if they still dont do it complain...as for the standing out side thing...its a free country they can do what they want....get over it ....unless like theyre outside naked wrestling or somthing...yeah then you can complain

offer to mow the lawn on one side.
as for the other side: you have to actually SEE your neighbors? how terrible. they ought to be evicted or cited by the neighborhood watch. unfortunately, people have a right to stand in their front yards and talk, even if you'd rather they stayed penned up inside. i think that neighborhood isolationism is contributing to a decline of community and to all sorts of social problems.

ur obviously a perfectionist. who cares if the neighbor's yard is long. That just means your lawn probably looks the best, so why are you worried?
