So I have a friend. We had lost touch, then she called me one day, saying how she wanted to hang out over the summer. So I invited her to my pool almost every week because I knew how much she wanted to go. Now we have started at the same high school. We don't have any classes together, but when I saw her in the cafeteria or walking to class, I would greet her enthusiastically. I wondered why she would look so expressionless. I tried to call her, the last time we talked, she had explained (after I had gone up to her in person) that she couldn't call me back because practice ran late. So I walked into lunch with her and she walked off to sit down somewhere without another glance at me. Whenever I see her, she is always sticking her chest out and sucking in her gut. It is disgusting. Anyway, now I feel like the all she wanted was to go to my pool so she could get a tan. And I took care of her stupid guinea pig.

Browny,
It does feel bad to be used, especially so blatantly! You've learned a lot about her. There are people like that in this world, unfortunately. Don't take revenge, just don't invite her to things you are doing in the future. You are a good friend, and you will build new and better relationships in the future. College is a great place to make lifelong friendships, so the future is calling you.

shes obviously a user, as a lot of people are... sure youre angry, you've been taken advantage of--however theres nothing you can really do but learn from this and move on. You dont need to go out of your way anymore, or even give her a glance! shes not worth your time--but no worries eventual;ly good friends will come along!

She's not your friend. You should feel angry because you were used. However, is it worth getting upset over, really? She's not worth your time. If she ever calls you again just tell her very sarcastically that "the pool is closed now, but maybe we can be friends again next summer" and hang up on her.

don't sweat it. I had friends come and go, and I know it hurts you, but you can't allow yourself to get aggravated because of her. If you were a good friend then you did your part, you owe her nothing. Stop dealing with her altogether. Don't even speak to her nod your head and keep on moving. As far as the pool goes, tell her she better go to a hotel that has one because your pool is closed to her.
