Of course it can!
Here's the thing - you crave them, and that could be a sign that you've got a problem internally. I craved sweets very badly before I was diagnosed with thyroid problems. It woudln't hurt to ask your doctor to do some blood tests just to make sure that's not the case with you.

Yes it can and I know just what you mean.
I can sit here at the computer and eat 3 or 4 candy bars or twinkies or whatever.
It is so hard to not buy them and not eat them, they are so good.
For a few weeks I was on a diet and lost 7 pounds but it took me a month or so.
I would only have some chocolate if I kept my calories down to about 1200 or so. That worked good and I only had the chocolate in the evening so I didn't have much time to pig out on it. And that was my little treat for doing good all day.

Yes it does. Because chocolate is high in fat. And both chocolate and sweets are empty calories so it's not like they fill you up. You still need to eat regular food. So at the end of the day you've eaten lots of calories and thus the weight gain. I know, I'm addicted to sweets too!!
PS. It will not cause diabetes. Don't listen to the guy who says it will. But if you already have diabetes it will cause you to have poor blood sugar control.

Not saying you are bulimic doesn't change the fact that your behavior indicates you are (or are mimicing their behavior). Purging is not a healthy diet aid. Don't allow your temptation foods in your house, thus it will be harder to binge on them. No tips for hiding weightloss from parents. They have eyes, you cannot render them blind. Hopefully they will see you have a problem and get you the medical assistance you very much need (and apparently are actually wanting, or you wouldn't have posted a public plea for help...disguised as an over-eating issue). Get help sugar...your doctor can help with the binging and also getting you on track to a healthy lifestyle so you won't have to worry about your weight..you'll be the size that is healthy for your age and height. Take care of you...you only get one body in this life.

Sweets and chocolate contain sugar, sugar is a carbohydrate, carbohydrates are turned into fat in the body.
I know what you mean. Sweets, especially chocolate, releases endorphins in the brain, endorphins make us feel really good. Did you know chocolate releases the same amount of endorphins in the female brain as sex? Interesting huh?

Been tested for diabetes? I don't know if it's true, but it's my own personal observation, that diabetics tend to crave sweets. I think weight gain is another symptom. But, yes, sugar is high in calories and will cause you to gain weight if you eat more calories than you burn.
PS. I don't mean to infer that eating sugar *causes* diabetes, but that being diabetic may (in my opinion) cause sugar cravings.

Well those things have a lot of sugar, and alot of calories, plus we like sugar and sweet tasting things rather than bitter tastes and vegetables. But if you are a girl, it might be due to your period. I know for me, all I want to do is pig out on candy and cake and stuff. But usually after I get it, I'm fine. But if not, just limit your intake, and use it as a reward. Like, I finished my homework, I'm going to have a piece of candy....that sort of type of thing. It's better to stop it now,
