Jon Stewart (from the Daily Show) wrote some pretty funny ones, like "America: The Book" (a parody of government textbooks) and another one, can't remember the title, of odd short stories. Both very good, very funny.

I understand Kevin Pollak has a book out now. It should be fascinating. He has been in over 40 movies, but he does celebrity impressions as well as stand up comedy. If you can get any of his CD's, they are great. The one I have is called A Little Off the Top. He does impressions of Peter Falk, Alan Arkin, Christopher Walkin and has been dissing William Shatner for thirty years in comedy.
Another guy many years ago sang a bunch of comedic songs when they were in vogue like The Boys In The Boy Scout Troop and such, his name is/was Allan Sherman and he wrote a book called Rape of the A.P.E. Ape standing for American Puritan Ethnic. Very funny book and thick too.

It relies upon on the comedian--S.J. Perelman is often great, and that i could evaluate Twain and Bierce the two comedian writers to a undeniable volume. Dave Barry made me chuckle plenty while i replaced right into a newborn, besides the shown fact that on account that 1995 he's been retreading the comparable floor. i could extremely prefer to have study a e book by ability of Andy Kaufman, and determine that George Carlin has to make good factors and that Steven Wright could be pleasing to study. Steve Martin is an fairly solid cultural critic, besides. It relies upon on the known of the comedian even with the undeniable fact that--the final comedians, like Carlin and Wright and Martin, are additionally extremely clever human beings. so as that they are greater probable to be good writers, i think of.

Brain Droppings by George Carlin is very funny.
Jerry Seinfeld, Paul Reiser and Paula Poundstone have all written some very funny books. Paula Poundstone's book is also very historically enlightening! She would have made an excellent history teacher! I highly recommend her book - even better is the CD version read by her!

Bob Newhart's book was quite good, and I liked Jerry Seinfeld's first book, "Sein Language." Robert Klein has a memoir out.
Second the Poundstone book -- she'll even send you an autographed bookplate if you ask through her Website.

Mort Sahl wrote one called Heartland. There is Love All the People by Bill Hicks--technically not written by him but a compilation of his words, but it should suffice.
