Well the fastest is probably one of the grossest. I think enema's work the fastest... However, the fastest most pleasant way would probably be super strength exlax I think. Your very best bet would be to ask the pharmacist. I know when one of my sons had the problem the doctor had me give him enema's. They work very fast within minutes sometimes....

Drink atleast 5 litres of water every day, three litres in the morning immediately after getting up from bed before brushing or going to the toilet. Walk for ten to fifteen minutes till you feel the urge to go to the latrine. In ten days, your constipation should have definitely gone.
Side by side, for longterm benefit, you should consume lots of carbohydrates and avoid non-vegetarian food containing lots of protein in them. All vegetables and fruits available in the market should be eaten for food especially green vegetables rather than eating only potatoes. Include lots of urad, tuvar, masoor and moong dal in your diet.

For long-term relief, make sure you eat plenty of green leafy veggies (fresh spinach, romain lettuce, field greens, kale, Chinese veggies like bok choy and Chinese broccoli), apples, mangoes, and other delicious fruits. It's very easy to make sure you get enough fiber in your diet. Lots of great recipes out there on the 'Net, too! Yum! :-9

Take two spoons of Isabgol powder in warm milk at bed time. Add sugar if required for taste. Put the powder, stir it and gulp it fast.

Besides drinking more water you need to improve your diet.

More fruit and vegies and bread, cereals and muesli and pasta, potatoes and nuts.

Red meat is the worst and could give you colon cancer and eggs are no good either. Fish is better than chicken.
