Honestly, I've always wanted to change the world one person at a time. So I really want to sponsor a child in the CCF which actually would excite me! However, my mom wouldn't approve of a new, extended, member of our family. She doesn't think it would be in my best interest (as I want to go to college to become a surgeon and I'm exceptional in school).

I'm very deep and I have the HUGEST heart (which is often a bad trait because of my disadvantage to go far in life...I let someone else go before me and as I know it, to be successful, you have to be demanding and strong. I don't even swear:-), never made out and I'm not even ugly...I've had many opportunities to do so but never did.

Anyways, why must I be constantly held back by my mom. I love her but sometimes I just feel like I need to take a stand for myself. I mean there are times when she tells me stuff and I just say I'm not dumb and I know already. She treats me like a baby in a way.

I just want to help a kid

Oh, my mom WON'T let me do it...I'm only in high school and sadly, to get into my bank account I need to be 18...she has too. So she has all control over my money too

Check the CCF on line to see if it worth your money. Remember, like all charities, they will be after you to increase your contribution. I do my charity giving privately.

Those overseas aid programs are a total scam. It's usually some government official in a third world country in cahoots with some huckster in the US, because that's where the money is. I started asking questions about the materials and engineering on a "water" project a church group was promoting in Liberia, and then they really wanted to get me out of the area.

I think it $24 a month if you give every month.
But, who putting up the $24? Your mom or you? If, you have the money. Maybe you can tell your mom it be a test in caring and your ability to make a commitment and stay with it.

sponsor a child, its a great feeling, you are not only giving help to that child, but also to the family and community... there is NO NEGATIVE that can come from this... what has your mum got to do with it?
