ok so we just adopted a gold fish that has an odd color its kind of greenish brownish instead of gold do you know what it means i think it means it has a disease

The bronzy color you're describing is the "normal" (wild) color for goldfish (see photo: http://www.thejump.net/id/wild-goldfish.htm ) - it's the orange, white, silver, black, yellow, etc. that are mutations of the original color, but since these are prettier, that's what people breed.

thats the normal color of a goldfish. If you go into the wild, the goldfish will be that color. The colors you see at your normal pet shop are that way because of breeding done by people.
