I have read all of her books and my favorites are Wrinkle in Time (of course) and Many Waters. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn was written by betty Smith.

I'm sorry to say that the only book I have read by Madeleine L'Engle was A Wrinkle In Time and that was as an adult only a few years ago. I really did enjoy reading it. Also, I recently read her advice to new writers in The Writer's Guide 2003 version and immediately decided I like Madeleine. I'm sorry to hear she is no longer with us, but she will truly live forever in the hearts of those who read even one of her books.

"Madeleine L'Engle dies Thursday at age 88 of natural causes. She was most famous for her book, "A Wrinkle in Time". In her lifetime she wrote more than 60 books but never targeted one specific age group.

She won numerous awards in her lifetime including a National Humanties Medal presented to her in 2004 by President Bush."

And yes, I loved the Time Quartet books... She was an amazing writer!

YES, that is too bad. A Wrinkle in Time was an amazing book. Hard to believe it was a childrens book written in the early 60's looking back on it. I'm surprised no one ever made a movie about it either. Yes that book really got a lot of people to read who normally wouldn't. That is the only thing I ever read by her though.

Yes, I heard. It's a sad day for the literary community. She's been my favorite author since I was 7, and now at 18 I still enjoy her works.
