Who agrees that Sammy Hagar was better with Van Halen than David Lee Roth ever was?

I agree with you. I like Dave and all, but Sammy added a whole new world to them.Another guitar,great vocals,great song writer,and didn't act like a jerk behind the scenes all of the time. Plus Sammy had a great career before AND after Van Halen. Uhh, what did Dave ever do without them? Couple beach boys remakes? He couldn't do anything by himself that was original, due to lack of talent. If it wasn't written and put in his face to sing, he couldn't do it. When Sam joined VH, it was like putting sugar on Cheerios

I do. I think Sammy was a better singer, but David was a better showman. It would have been cool to see them both tour with Van Halen.

i like VH songs that were sung by both--i think my fave is dance the night away... but i also like "finish what u started", "when its love" and LOVE "poundcake"...so yeah hagar wins my vote, i agree that he did the ballads pretty well--but ya know what? I'd take hagar and/or roth ANY DAY over Gary Cherone. Good singer--but stick to "more than words" dude!!
