All of those are great road courses, but all lack things that F1 organizers would be looking for.
Road America is in the middle of nowhere and has nothing to offer in the way of enough hotels to accommodate an F1 weekend. The track certainly is long enough and interesting enough though.
Laguna is too short. I don't think it lacks for anything else though.
Road Atlanta is too short and too bumpy.
VIR is in the middle of nowhere and I doubt Danville (nearest city) can accommodate F1 in terms of hotels and its airport. When I went to VIR I had to fly to Greensboro and drive.
Not sure about Barber, but I think the track would be too short again.
Watkins Glen doesn't have the hotel resources to hold an F1 race, the sport attracts more people now than it did the last time the series was there in the early 80s.
F1 to come back somewhere other than Indy is going to need a cracker-jack street course. I'd love to see someplace like NYC come up with a way to get Formula One onto its streets. Maybe a way of having a "Central Park Grand Prix"?

Not that this will be popular but right where it was INDY. That is the type of stadium tracks that F1 have become to like. A fan friendly one.
Also if you put VIR in your choices Mid Ohio should get the call too. From the stands you can see the fastest parts of the track and 2 of the 3 passing points and the out come of the third.

There are a few good ones that are probably a few improvements (if not already improved for it) that would make it F1 ready.
My Top 5.
Watkins Glen
Laguna Seca
Infineon (Sonoma)
Road America
Long Beach
And I see Daytona was suggested, but I dont know if that would work out, if it would get dumped on for being like Indy (since its a road course inside a race track)

Piggybacking on what Val said, Las Vegas would be the ticket. However, with the crush of pedestrian traffic in Vegas, it'd be very tough to stage a street course out there.
I would nevertheless like to see F1 move to Vegas. Any one of the five star hotel operators alone could pay ANYTHING Ecclestone asked per race, and the city could easily come up with the cash to create a course out there. They could setup the course so Nascar could choose to race there on alternate years; Champ Car could race there; they could open up the track for manufacturer testing during "off-season", ala Nurburgring.
Las Vegas is the perfect place for F1 as it already draws massive crowds from all over the globe, already willing--even gagging--to part with lots of their hard-earned cash. It would be a boon for F1 and could end up being one of their most popular races, provided it got proper schedule placement in the season. Oh, and the Constructors would be the happiest people on earth because the US is one of the largest markets for many of them.
That's my vote!

I was thinking Laguna Seca, but the FIA would probably want a new F1 dedicated track built.
In a country that is all NASCAR, I can't see a track like that being built.

Why didn't you include Infineon Raceway?
It's a very good track and I want to see them race there!
By the way,Laguna Seca is a strong second

there are talks going on at the moment about a possible street circuit at Las Vagas. nothing has been decided and things will not be finalised before the 2009 season. that mean unfortunately there will not be a us grand prix next year.
