I understand what you're saying. I remember when I first started over a year ago. Many people were not friendly then either except for a precious few that for most part have disappeared. Some of the very clique-ish of those days are still around and are still just as unfriendly. I appreciate your attempts to get people to lighten up and have fun. At least you have a fun avatar !!!

I'm a newcomer & I don't notice anything. Maybe it's because I answer questions where I think someone really needs help or that the polls are for fun and I don't pay much attention to who is who. I don't choose categories, just questions.
Besides, any clique that would want me as a member I wouldn't want anything to do with them so there !!

First of all, I'm probably still considered a 'newbie'. My issue is this-- whenever I ask a question, the ones who always respond in a snotshit, rude way ARE the newcomers. The regulars here are at least respectful, even if they don't necessarily agree with your question.
I will say this about everyone-- new or not-- if you're cool to me, I'm totally cool right back.

Sure, Dr. Patrick , I was nice to most all that came on here new.....But, as soon as they felt the power of that REPORT BUTTON......they didn't know who I was any longer. I went from being the welcoming committee to being the violationist. I am still nice but not chummy with newbies. When I was a newbie I got my butt chewed out by many many p/s'ers cause I wouldn't bow down and genuflect ole judas rabbi. Still don't and won't and we are on each othes contact list. I told him my job was to prove he in no GOD. he laughs at me.

I am with Damn Miss Ellie on this Dr. Patrick. Not all of us are surly and mean to newcomers but we are a bit more wary of them because of the increase in troll activity. I, myself, have had a troll attack my last account and it was not a pleasure cruise, let me tell you. They tore me down, made my friends scared of me and forced me off the site for a while. When I came back, I slowly started to re-add people. Now I am very careful. I don't want a repeat of this occuring.

i assume this is asked because of the question i posted, and i didnt want to rub anyone up the wrong way and i have no problem with new people coming to p&s, infact i am happy to see some fresh faces here, it was just a stupid question in light of seeing a string of questions in the last hour or so asking what p&s is,
i am very sorry if i hurt anyones feeling that was not my intention at all

There is only a small handful that are clique-ish. And alot of those accounts are trolls. I say screw-'em! It's all just in fun anyway, anyone who has too big a stick up their butt needs to pull it out and move on!!

I'm always friendly with newcomers. I do remember what it was like when I was new here and not familiar with how things worked. If any new person asks for help here, I'd be the first one to offer a helping hand.

Yeah, some people are quite clique-ish here. For the most part, people aren't though. It irritates me when some will only answer questions from their contacts and/or only give best answers to their contacts.

People think you are a newcomer if your account date is recent.I 've been on here with several accounts for over a year. Some times it seems to just take one night when everyone seems to think my answers are funny, other nights I just don't seem to be able to hit it.
