Class notes. I find that when I took notes during class then as soon as I could after the class was over I would rewrite the notes. I would make them look better and easier to read, and fill in anything I remembered from the lecture in my notes as well. Then I would go over them once, then rewrite them again and go over them again a few times before the test. I was able to remember a lot from my classes like that. Also make flash cards of important terms and things for your classes. Then go over them once a day. Just before the test sit down and go over them again, then sit down and try to rewrite all that you can remember on a page of paper. The things you forgot you know you need to study more on. Never study longer than 1 hour, if you do then things begin to run together. So I would study for 50 minutes or so then take a 15 minute break. Then go back and do some more. This helped to memorize things. When you understand things in context with the overall picture it is easier to remember them. You need to make sure that you know what steps you do in order to answer a math question. Know why you do them and how, then all that will change is the numbers. The way you go about getting the answer is always the same. In history know the basic information of each chapter that would be the : who, what, when, why, where, and how. Of the main events that happened. Once again flash cards and writing and rewriting it out really help you remember for the long term. The key is to understand how details relate to the over all of what you are studying. Then it becomes easier to remember. There is no real short way to do it. They all take time, but it makes the tests and remembering things so much easier. Best of luck! =)
