get a black molly they are very friendly. ive never had one that grew aver three inches. and to not have babys just get the females they have ALL the personality. your LFS probably has them seperated because they cant stop them from breeding

Well, just so you know, you have 2 livebearers in there. Platys are live bearers. If you have a male and a female, you're halfway there! And chances are, if you have a female and just recently got her, there's a good chance she's already pregnant. Platys can have around 6-7 loads of fry just by 1 mating. I would suggest that you go online and do some research into livebearers prior to getting yourself into something that you're not real sure of. It is very easy to breed platys and they are a great first fish for trying it (as well as mollies and guppies. There is no way to "NOT" have many fry. If you have a livebearer, you are subjecting yourself to countless amounts of fry. That's why I suggest you research it as opposed to trying to have someone answer you here. It would take up so so much space to tell you how to do it, and you have plenty of information available to you to find out absolutely everything you need to know. It's fun to breed the livebearers, and great to watch them actually give birth, but as I said, you have to be prepared for large amounts of fry. Keep in mind though that to cut down on the amount, you can let the "mother" have the fry right in the tank, and a good amount of the fry will more then likely be eaten by the tankmates as well as the other platys. It's just nature taking it's course, and population control. The more knowledge you have on breeding, the better off you will be. Best of luck! ;o)

Well, first of all you should get at least 2 more zebra danios, they feel much more comfortable in a bigger group since they're schooling fish
As for livebearers, you can make it an all male tank if you don't want to have any fry, but as soon as you get only 1 female, you will have to deal with offspring
Also any livebearer female can have young for up to 6 months even without a male around them, because they can store sperm for that long
there are many livebearers that you could get
guppy's
mollies (many different species out there)
platie's (also many different colors)
Hope that helps
Good luck

get some fancy tail guppies! they are so pretty and are livebearers.

also, if you dont separate the fry from the tank after birth, most likely the other fish will eat some and you will end up wiht a few "survivors"
then you wont have many fry, just like you want.

Sorry about that, but it's true- platies are livebearers. No need to add some livebearers, because you've already got some! lol!
