i've taken tennis a few times for PE at school and i understand the socring and all that. well, i just started watching tennis today, the US Open, and i was really into it since i understand the sport. but there's still some things that confuse me. so can someone please tell me all you know about tennis? i'd appreciate it. thanks.

It's hard to tell you EVERYTHING I know, just be specific nd ask about what ou want to know, if you have trouble remembering the players or knowing who they are, etc, just watch more tennis to get used to it.

I use to be on varsity tennis, so i had to know the sport. If you are talking single the point is to keep it out of the alleys. ( the sides) but when playing doubles the alleys are in play. In single it is pretty much straight forward, get them to run more than you so they get tired. When you serve you change boxes and stay behind the back line. Now if your talking doubles its different. THe one serveing will stay back. The other moves up and is the net person, whatever you do try to avoid the net person. Now if you are recieveing the serve you stay back but don't be afraid to move up a little depending on the serve. If the person serves hard stay back. If they is a lob then move up. The other person watches and see if the ball goes out. If it does they yell "out." Also a good rule is one is on the left half, and one is on the right half. If they want to switch then one should yell switch.

I play tennis for the high school and im in middle school... the points go love (0) 15 (1) 30 (2) 40 (3) All (winning point). If your serving you say your point value first... no matter how high the opponent's score is... example: You say--- 15-All (you have zero and they have 4 points and if they get this point... they win)

Basically the players are all seeded(graded) by their ability's They apply for a tournament get placed and work their way up to the finals by beating their opponents.Thats about it. It is kinda like march madness. they work it down to the final 2 and BOOM venus williams wins again.
