I think people make choices based on how much or how little pain each choice will cost them. Not meaning necessarily physical pain, but most often emotional pain. Even a financial choice carries emotional pain. Making a choice that hurts ones self or someone else carries emotional pain. The choice will be made based on whom the person wants to hurt the least, him/herself or the other, as an example. I think order plays a very small role. Of course I don't know what the choices are you are speaking of. So everything is relative.

It would depend on the question and interest in it.

The more interested in the question, the more effort would be taken to choise an option.

And if it is a loaded option then you could direct them to an option for those that are not interested and those that are.

People who do the statistical information based on a survey know how to load questions very well and place the answers in the right sequence to get their agenda where they want it. Maybe you should check some out but on the top of my head I dont have one to point you to.

I think that they are more inclined to choose the one that they think fits best for them, as per the way that you say it ie. tone body language, posture, and mannerisms, so its reallly not what you say.... Rather how you say it and bring it across... making the person feel comfortable with the choices, you will get a more real idea of what they want
I THINK

I don't think so. However, Salesmanship 101 teaches that it is better to offer a choice between two options ("Do you prefer the green one or the blue one?") than just "Do you like the green one?).
