Because he is one person in the WORLD. All he has to do is hide out in some dinky cave with his video camera. He's not trying to be a world leader so he doesn't have to make appearances, etc.

Well, I think the Japanese or the Chinese probably have the most advanced technology in the world, but yeah, the US is up there too. I am sure, as I have said many times before, that the CIA knows exactly where he is and choose to do nothing about him. We're at war, remember? WMD? Saddam Hussein? Osama who?

1. The US is certainly one of the high tech countries, but definitely not Number one. That's Germany and Japan.
2. What are you going to do with bin Laden. He is already a hero and martyr to the muslim world. If he is ever caught, all hell will break loose. They better leave him alone.

We knew exactly where he was... It apparently wasn't a priority to send OUR troops after him though.
I am continuously amazed that people fall for the BS Bushco feeds them. And now, when the republicans need a boost in support from America, they play right into his hand by releasing this "new tape" from bin Laden. Let's hope that "the people" aren't dumb enough to fall for the same bull twice.

Because America (by which I take it you mean the USA, not North/South America) is not omnipotent. If you have enough supporters, there are always going to be places to hide.

Why would you think it was easy? He hid from the entire Soviet Union for years and they DID use torture and other very effective means to force people to speak.
We get in trouble for naughty pictures of the terrorists and college pranks to embarrass them to talk, and you think we're going to be MORE effective at finding him?
