I think the 49ers have a legit chance to make it to the playoffs this year. They have a tremindous amount of young talent. Alex Smith is showing signs of improvement every year and he has Frank Gore to take some of the pressure off. Plus, Vernon Davis ( the TE ) will be the next best TE in the league. This guy is a phenom. It always helps when you have a young QB to have a good TE to throw to. They will need 10-6 for playoffs probably. Somewhere around there.

as a matter of fact they could win the division only if alex smith and frank gore play good i no frank will play good but if alex doesn't play good frank will have to carry the team and from now on alex cant be an ok qb hes has to be a good qb the game againts the cardinal will prove if the 49ers are contenders for a shoot at the division tiltle

they are a great improving and rebuilding team. alex smtih just keeps getting better and he has vernon davis this year which will help. they should go anywhere from 7-9 to 9-7. gore will be beastin allllllll season long.
